I blame my grandfather. He was a salesman and traveled throughout Asia and his huge columned house "Stagwood" in Lawrenceville, Georgia was filled the the spoils of these trips; intricate carvings of Jade and Amethyst, amazingly complex and absurdly soft rugs. But most of all, I loved the rings he brought my grandmother and that she kept in a box on her dressing room table. For my seventh or eighth birthday, he sent me a gold ring of my own and I was hooked. From that day on, I've been a collector. If I had just ten dollars left to my name, none of them would be spent on a ring of some sort.
I enjoy restoring antique, vintage and estate rings with gemstones, often Jade (for which I have the eye). Then I provide the rings to estate jewelers who sell them in retail stores. I design rings, too and work with a goldsmith to create them. The "Screw You, I Love You" ring on the previous page is a concept I've been working on for a couple of years. But mostly, I'm a treasure hunter. You can see (and even purchase) some of my finds (plus stuff I just like) by checking out my Pinterest boards.
