1. Out the hotel window in Hay, Wales. So beautiful, it actually made me physically sick.
2. Inside the hotel room. The pulled-from-the-grave night desk clerk could not provide me with the WIFI password so all I could do was stare at the window treatments all night.
3. The Virgin Upper Class lounge. Where I felt security guards would remove me at any moment. Very swanky.
4. Paintings in the lobby of the 24,000 year old hotel. I wanted to rip them from the walls and take them all home with me.
5. Well, you can't tell from this photo taken on the train but the land is filled with sheep-things, all perfect and perfectly still. Almost like the gays put artificial sheep out in the fields, just for looks. I'm telling you, the English countryside makes American look like one giant landfill.
I love London. But Brighton! It's the coolest, grooviest seaside town you have ever seen in your life. Populated entirely by smart girls with glasses, blokes with good natures and old people with brooms. I love Brighton and want to move there IMMEDIATELY. Check it out:

The Uk crowds were incredibly warm. Some were suspicious at first -visiting "fake memorist" and all. But in the end, I won them over with my charm, my sincerity and my 14 pound club, still stained with the blood of a dozen baby seals. ALL HAIL BRIGHTON.

New Elizabeth Berg Book Covers |

As I posted earlier, I love the new Elizabeth Berg book, The Day I Ate Whatever I Wanted and did read it in public despite the kitchen-yellow cover with the hot pink type and endpapers.
So imagine my delight when Elizabeth herself presented me with eight "manly" covers designed by her friend, Jeff Erickson. My personal favorite (there were eight, shown here are only two) is the MEAT cover. Now, I can read Elizabeth Berg in public, with confidence. No longer feeling like I am carrying around a sanitary napkin or wearing a breast feeding shirt.
